1. About 10-minute chats

10-minute "say hi" chats are an easy and low pressure way to get to know who is in the neighborhood. You might pass the same neighbors on the sidewalk, in the elevator, or at the grocery store for years without ever having a natural reason to talk. These chats create that reason. Hey There, Neighbor suggests neighbors for you to meet based on the interests you selected when you registered, along with a time that works with both of your schedules. If you’re both up for it, you meet at the local park or coffee shop and say hi for 10 minutes.

1. See who lives within a 5 to 10 minute walk from you, in the Neighbors page

2. The proposed meeting time and place are automatically calculated based on your location and mutual availability. You can choose a different time or nearby location.

3. When you are ready to say "hi" to a neighbor, click "Say hi" to confirm the time works for you. The neighbor will receive an email asking them to confirm, and you will receive an email when the neighbor has also confirmed they are available.

4. After both of you have confirmed, head to the displayed local park or coffee shop at the scheduled time to say "hi" and put a friendly face to a name in your community.

2. Start or join neighborhood groups

Neighbors have started groups like parents, board games, dog walkers, Monday 6pm Zumba crew, and more

1. Find or start groups by selecting an interest. This will allow you to start a group, or join an existing group

3. Host or join local events

1. In the Activities page, you can join or create events

2. Invite individual neighbors, specific groups, or the whole neighborhood

3. Neighbots you personally invite will receive an email. Neighbors you do not invite will not receive an email, but will still be able to view the event in the events page

4. Browse the directory and contact neighbors

1. Use the directory to find neighbors by shared interests

2. Reach out to neighbors directly through the messaging feature. Neighbors you message will receive an email notifying them of your message, and will be able to respond through the wesite. Note: neighbors will not see your email address directly
