A first hello. More familiar faces. A little more community.
From signing up to showing up
What it looks like for a neighbor.
You sign up with your location and interests: maybe you’d like walking buddies, someone to play board games with, or just a few familiar faces nearby. Here’s where that can lead.

01 / Find your people nearby
“Oh, they live right around here.”
You can see who lives nearby, what they’re interested in, and how they’d like to connect. A short profile gives you something to start a conversation about.
Someone who wants neighborhood walks. Another parent. A neighbor who’s also been meaning to meet more people.
Get a sense of the person behind the familiar face.
02 / Make the first hello happen
A person, a time, a place. Just 10 minutes.
Hey There Neighbor proposes a specific introduction and helps arrange when and where to meet. You can confirm the plan, suggest a change, or message each other.
It’s a small, concrete invitation: say hi to one person. You don’t have to figure out a whole social plan before you’ve even met.
A suggested introduction gives you a place to start.
03 / Find something to do together
“Who else is up for a walk?”
As more neighbors join, shared interests become visible. See who else wants to walk, play games, or get dinner, and start a conversation with those people.
That can lead to a new group. Or help someone discover an existing one, with a link to its website or WhatsApp group.
Shared interests are an opening to do something together.
Alongside what you’re already building
A community doesn’t have to start from scratch.
Gatherings and shared spaces give people a sense of belonging. They show us what community can feel like, and make us more open to getting to know each other.

After the potluck.
Imagine this at Sunset Social Club.
Someone joins the club and comes to a potluck. They have a lovely time, but leave still not knowing many people.
Through Hey There Neighbor, they discover another person nearby looking for walking buddies. They meet for a quick hello. The next time there’s a gathering, they already know someone there.
Later, they find a few more neighbors interested in walking and start a regular Sunday walk together.
Your community creates the shared identity and opportunities to gather. Hey There Neighbor helps those opportunities turn into individual relationships.
What can grow from a hello
More people who know each other. More things that can happen.
One introduction makes a familiar face. A few can become friendships, activity partners, and people who help each other.
As relationships and shared interests become visible, neighbors can find their own ways to get involved — and start things nobody needed to organize centrally.

A note from Roza, founder & neighbor
I’d love to compare notes.
I’m building Hey There Neighbor to make it easier for neighbors to turn living near each other into actually knowing each other. I’m especially interested in how it could work alongside the communities people are already creating.
If this brings something to mind for your community, I’d love to hear about it.
